TRS Chana Dal is made by splitting black chickpeas (kala chana) and removing the skin. The resulting yellow dal has a nutty, sweet flavor. It's used in South Indian dishes like vada (lentil donuts) and in Pakistani curries. It's also ground into gram flour (besan).
How to use (serves 4):
Soak 1 cup chana dal for 2 hours. Boil until soft. Make a dal fry or use in vada batter.
