TRS Red Lentils (Masoor Dal) are split red lentils that cook very quickly – about 10-15 minutes. They become soft and almost mushy, making them perfect for a smooth, comforting dal. They are the most common dal in Pakistani and Indian households for everyday meals.
How to use (serves 4):
Rinse 1 cup masoor dal. Boil with 2.5 cups water, turmeric, and salt for 10-12 minutes until soft. Make tarka with onion, garlic, and cumin. Pour over dal.
