TRS Mung Dal Chilka is split mung beans that still have the greenish-brown skin attached. The skin adds fiber, a slightly earthier taste, and more texture. It takes a little longer to cook than yellow mung dal but is considered healthier.
How to use (serves 4):
Rinse 1 cup dal. Soak for 30 minutes. Boil with 4 cups water, turmeric, and salt for 25-30 minutes. Make tarka as usual.
