Alibaba Char Gond is a natural tree resin that becomes crispy when fried and chewy when soaked. It is famous in North Indian and Pakistani winter recipes for its warming and strengthening properties. Deep fry a few crystals in ghee until they puff up. Add to laddoo mixtures or warm milk.
How to use:
Fry 2 tablespoons char gond in ghee until puffed. Add 1 cup warm milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, and cardamom powder. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serves 2.
